Ledger

Definition

The ledger is the record of every account, with each entry that changed it in date order. It is where you can see the history of one account, such as the bank, from the first entry to the latest.

Example. The bank account ledger for a month might show a €2,500 opening balance, a €100 payment for supplies and a €900 customer payment.

Why it matters for your company

When a balance looks wrong, the ledger shows each entry behind it. It is the first place to look when you check your books.

Where you see it in Sapita

In the ledger section in advanced mode, one account at a time.
