Reconciliation
Definition
Reconciliation is the step where each bank line is matched to a document or a transaction in the books. A line that is not matched is still open and needs a decision. A reconciled period shows that the books and the bank agree.
Example. A €900 payment from a customer on the bank statement is matched to the €900 invoice it pays, and the line is closed.
Why it matters for your company
A reconciled bank account shows that your books match the bank. Unmatched lines are where missing invoices and bank fees hide.
Where you see it in Sapita
On the bank reconciliation screen, where each imported line is matched or left open.
