Bank statement
Definition
A bank statement is the list of payments into and out of a bank account over a period, issued by the bank. It is the outside record you compare your books with. Sapita can import the statement so that each line can be matched.
Example. A statement line showing a €120 payment out on 3 March for a software subscription matches a supplier invoice of €120 in the books.
Why it matters for your company
The statement is the outside record of your money. Matching it to the books catches missed invoices, duplicate payments and bank fees you have not recorded yet.
Where you see it in Sapita
When you upload a bank file on the payments screen, each line is then matched to the books.
