Receivable

Definition

A receivable is an amount a customer owes the company for goods or services already delivered. It is an asset until the customer pays. Receivables have due dates, and a late one is overdue.

Example. An invoice for €1,500 issued on 1 October, unpaid on 15 October, is a receivable of €1,500.

Why it matters for your company

Receivables are money you have earned but not yet received. Watching them stops your profit from looking better than your bank balance.

Where you see it in Sapita

In the receivables list and on the balance sheet, under assets.
